MEC international has nearly 30 years experience in executing construction projects, every projects we completed with a brilliant success. One of the reasons for that success comes from our professional engineers with intelligent methods in controlling the work. Our approach to track progress in construction is comparing percentage of work completed against a project plan. The earned value management (EVM) is an effective management technique for measuring efficiency and process of a project. To understand more about EVM, these concepts should be explained below:
The planned value (PV) is the value of the work that is planned to be completed.
The earned value (EV) is the value of the work actually completed at the consideration point, and is also known as the budgeted cost of work performed.
The actual cost (AC) is actual expenses at the consideration point, including direct and indirect expenses.

By comparing planned value and earned value, the construction management board can conclude if a project is on time, behind schedule or ahead of schedule. If the earned value exceeds the planned value, the project is ahead of schedule. On the other hand, if the earned value is below the planned value; the project is lagging behind schedule.
When earned value and actual cost are compared, the construction management board can determine if a project is exceeding its budget or being completed for less. If the earned value is higher than the actual cost, the project is saving money. Otherwise, the project is exceeding its budget.
In addition, there are many other aspects that must be addressed and managed proactively to ensure projects success such as human resources, relationships, project risks, etc.

From these factors MEC Engineers conclude that the results of a project will be greatly improved with an effective administration. MEC engineers always seek methods to track progress and well coordinate all aspects of project execution, therefore, resources can be used more effectively. This is reason why MEC engineers are well-known for intelligence and flexibility in every kind of projects.
