To make construction plans clearer, drawings are divided into 4 groups: architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical.

Firstly, architectural drawings express the appearance of the building: site plans, interior and exterior elevations, sections, and any details required to provide a clear image of how the completed project must look like for investors. Secondly, structural drawings represent how the building is physically designed. There must be an absolutely exact match of shape and dimensions between architectural and structural drawings.

Thirdly, electrical drawings describe a system delivering electricity to building appliances and equipments, and they are designed by electrical engineers. These drawings are simple or complicated, which depends on the size of the project.

Finally, mechanical drawings provide the layout and technical specifications for mechanical system, which includes plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, metal mechanism and fire protection.
